WORK FOR ACCOMMODATION
Work. Play. Stay.
Our Australian Work for Accommodation (WFA) Program provides a great way to stretch that budget while you travel and meet community-minded travellers from all over the world.

Stay in Style: Not all WFA (Woofer) gigs are equal. Drifter is known for its community-spirit, design-led dorms and outstanding facilities.
Only 15 Hours per Week: Your accommodation is covered with just two shifts a week and you’ll even have some extra money to pocket too.
Welcoming vibe: Be part of a diverse and creative team with a fun and social spirit.
Skill Building: Learn on-the-job in roles like housekeeping, front desk, kitchen stewarding, or guest experience and events – all with support from our permanent team.
Fair & Professional: Unlike volunteer gigs, you’ll be an official employee with proper contracts and award conditions.

What Kind of Work Will You Do?
You’ll support our permanent staff with that help keep the hostel running smoothly and give guests the best experience possible.
Host (Front Desk): Be the face of Drifter. Welcome new guests, help with check-ins and check-outs, answer questions and share local tips.
Guest Experience: Bring the fun. Help host social events and lead activities like trivia nights and paint & sip. Maybe even run your own workshops – yoga, art, music, you name it.
Housekeeping: Keep things fresh. Strip beds, manage linen, and reset rooms so every guest enjoys a clean and welcoming space.
Public Area Cleaner: Own the shared spaces. From lounges to kitchens, you’ll keep the vibe friendly and the areas spotless. Frequent checks and resets mean guests always walk into a space that feels cared for and inviting.
Kitchen Support: Help keep the kitchen flowing. From washing dishes and cleaning surfaces to basic prep, you’ll make sure everything stays organised and ready for the team.
Maintenance Assistant: Lend a hand with the small but important jobs that keep a property running smoothly. You’ll support the maintenance team to ensure everything is safe, functional and ready for guests to enjoy.
