What’s the deal with the exclusive group spaces?

We can offer exclusive use of some of our fantastic communal spaces – the cinema, the zen room, the leisure club and more, that you can reserve for your group to have your own exclusive place for a movie, dinner or a team meeting.

Do you allow more than one school group at a time?

We have many school groups stay and often have multiple school groups staying at the same time. We do our best to allocate each group a different floor at our property – our communal spaces are spread out all across the hotel where you will bump into guests and other groups.

What if our school group is on the smaller side?

No worries! You will still have your own ensuite rooms next or close to each other, for sure on the same level! You will only have to share the common areas with other groups.

Is Drifter Christchurch open to the public? And how do you keep kids safe?

Our accommodation is not open to the public – but our bar downstairs on the ground floor is. Safety is our top priority, full stop. When school groups are in-house, we: Use smart tech: Duve smart locks handle access with pin codes (high-tech and hassle-free). Back it up with training: We run an improved, ongoing safety policy for all staff; always learning, always leveling up.

Are there accessible rooms and lifts?

We have got accessible rooms available on request with their own accessible bathroom. We have accessible lifts also. Just let us know what you need, we’ve got you covered.

Do we need to bring sleeping bags?

All bed linen and towels are provided.
